Cardinal KOA in Cardinal, Ontario
Account photo "Response to BRIAN...."......   Brian, please let me start by saying that at 41 years old each, my wife and I are not up all night hooting and hollering. Our three children go to bed between 9-10, and then the two of us enjoy staying up and sitting by the fire. We have the ocassional glass of whine, or beer, but no more. We enjoy our quiet time when the kids are in bed. We talk, tell stories, and on the occasion, and I know this is hard to beleive for the owners of Cardinal KOA, laugh. Sometimes out loud. This is where my concrns is. I guess Daniel, just doesn't like people enjoying themselves. Again, my wife and I are not loud. We do laugh and have fun, but nothing to deserve threats of having our fire put out, and constant harrassment by the owner. Perhaps he was just having a bad day? With that said, why take it out on his paying customers. Anyway, as I've said it before, great campground for the kids, and between the hours of 8am to 9pm. It's all down hill once the sun sets, and the moon turns the owner into the Mr. Hyde just looking for confrontation. Sad too, because it has even more potential. To all, try the campground. It's clean, lots of activities, and the ice cream is great. If only Daniel had better interpersonal skills, and wasn't so angry at night??? FYI...The other staff are great. It's toobad one person, in this case, the owner, can really ruin a fun camping experience. WARNING: It's not only one person putting negative reviews on here.

Oak Bay Campground in Oak Bay, New Brunswick
Account photo "fantastic"......   We stayed at oak point in 2012 i did not find any of the 2011 review to be correct. The campgound is beautiful the staff are great it is very clean 100% of the time. The beach on the right is all sand and the view is beautiful. The other campers are friendly and very helpful. the only thing i think they should consider is a longer season, oak point is too short if not the shortest.thanksgiving is the norm now.Our summers are longer than they used to be and its time to join the other campgrounds in N.B

Grenville Park Camping and RV Park in Prescott, Ontario
Account photo This is a great campground, not too far from Ottawa/Gatineau. It is well taken care of. Marianne and Larry are very nice hosts, they go out of their way to help if help is needed. Lots of activities for kids/families. The campground is in top shape. You can't do anything about the bugs, they are simply there, it's camping! We've enjoying this campground for over 15 years and we intend to go back this summer. We meet lots of friends that keep coming back each year.

Wide Open Wilderness Campground in Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia
Account photo For all the people going on and on about our "Canada Day Disaster", Do you honestly think we were trying to hurt our crowds? because I really know we weren't. When my boss lit one, his buddy lit another one and when my boss ran, He tripped on one of the boxes. that's why the so called "Canada Day Disaster" happened. But if you would have came back and gave us a "Second Chance" You would have seen that Labour Day was a complete success!

Account photo just want to reply to" stay away". I don't know what u were on,because the speed bumps r standard size and because there r alot of "children" in the park it has to be SAFE, so they r put there for speeding vehicles, to not harm our children. As for getting out at night, had an emergency as simular as this one, and got out as soon as we went to the office and said "hospital". The owners couldnt do enough for us. this park is absoulutaly awesome for anybody. I think everyone should make there own opinion,If u have a complaint, i think u should go to the owner and voice ur complaint before u voice ur negetivity on a public socail network because this campground is great, is all about family and would "never not" let medical help enter or exit. As for lawn mowing and decck building are for the people that would like a nice place and that does not has too do with the owners, thats what the campers like. That"s all the owners want to do is make people and families to have fun.

Rondeau Shores Trailer Park in Morpeth, Ontario
Account photo "Fun times"......   Wow, i dont' know where the bad reviewer was staying but clearly not the same rondeau shores as us! The washrooms were the cleanest set that i have seen in a campground in all our travels and we were there on the long wkend. We are repeat customers to this campground over the last two seasons and we feel like family when we go there. The staff is so friendly and go over and beyond what they have to. We received free gifts, free luncheons and my kids were so busy we barely saw them raw raw raw lol. If you are looking for a small safe campground with excellent fishing and the cleanest pool hit up this place www.rondeaushorespark.com

Arrowhead Provincial Park in Huntsville, Ontario
Account photo "Excellent, private sites"......   This is one of our favourite parks, although we wish there was a playground for children. The campsites are large and private and we’ve even had deer walking through the bush just at the edge of our campsite. The bathrooms are decent, although some of the vault toilets are not always well kept, despite our report to the staff. The trails are wonderful and lead to some gorgeous views, such as Stubb’s Falls. This trail, along with the Hardwood Hills trail, is easily managed by young children. We really enjoyed a guided tour of the Hardwood Hills trail in 2012 and will be looking for more guided tours at other parks in the future. Arrowhead Lake is warm and calm. The beaches are nothing spectacular, but are sufficient to keep children happy for the afternoon.

Awenda Provincial Park in Tiny, Ontario
Account photo "Gorgeous Georgian Bay"......   We’ve only been to Awenda once, and enjoyed our stay. The campground we were in had large sites that were very well spaced apart. The trees were tall and didn’t provide much screening, so we were grateful to have such distance from our neighbours. We didn’t get a chance to do much hiking, but the trail we did go on was lovely. The beaches are quite a hike from the campgrounds. We parked in the beach parking area and then walked down to beach #4. Beach #1 and #2 were quite rocky, and the waves were rough the day we visited. We walked to beach #3, which looked nice but was busy, so we continued walking to beach #4. This beach also looked very nice, but again the water was rough, so we returned to beach #3. It is sheltered somewhat and the water was warm and the wave action just right for children. It took us about 20-25 minutes to walk to the farthest beach (beach #4) with a 4 yr old, so be prepared.

MacGregor Point Provincial Park in Port Elgin, Ontario
Account photo "Beautiful trails and sunsets"......   This park was recommended to us by a neighbour and we really enjoy it. The trails are beautiful and varied. The views and sunsets are gorgeous. They have a spectacular playground that will keep children happy for hours. Most of the sites are private and treed, with a hard packed gravel base. The comfort stations we visited were in good condition and kept clean. The beach at MacGregor Point is terrible. It is small and there is a stretch of gooey muck running along the length of the beach that you have to walk through to get out into deeper water. The bottom of the lake is very rocky near the shore and small children will have to walk very carefully. Once you are out from the beach a bit there are less rocks and the still shallow water is fun for children to play in. We have heard that the day visitor beach at MacGregor Point is much nicer, as is a beach just 5 minutes away. We plan to visit those beaches next time we are at MacGregor.

Port Burwell Provincial Park in Port Burwell, Ontario
Account photo "Great sites, great beach"......   This is one of our favourite parks. The sites are generally private and well treed. The comfort stations are newer and kept clean. The staff are friendly and helpful. The beach is absolutely beautiful and Lake Erie is warm. Unfortunately, a number of times we have been to Port Burwell the beach has been closed for high bacteria levels. There are only two main walking trails there – one is a 1km loop through forest, and the other leads down to the beach area. There is an excellent playground near the head of the trails that will keep kids happy for hours.

Point Farms Provincial Park in Goderich, Ontario
Account photo "Lovely Little Park"......   This is a lovely little park. We enjoy the fact that it is quite small, and therefore less busy. Choose your campsite carefully – some of the sites are very much out in the open, especially the corner sites. The comfort station in the Colborne campground is newer and kept very clean, while the comfort station in the Huron campground is older. The staff are friendly and helpful. The beach is gorgeous and can be walked to easily from the campgrounds. You descend 120+ wooden steps to get to the beach area. The walking trails are interesting and well marked. There isn’t a park store, but there is a small store directly across from the entrance. The firewood they sell is terrible – we ended up buying excellent firewood from the nearby town of Goderich. There does seem to be a slight problem with some campers at Point Farms thinking they are entitled to bring their dogs into the comfort station – we encountered this twice in one day.

Account photo "Repeat customer"......   we spent over three wkends this past summer at rondeau shores and we were extremely happy and will continue to bring our children there. I don't agree wiht the other review as the washrooms were just sparkling, the owners or managers not sure if they were the actual owners were so nice to us, they even invited us to their potluck that was for seasonal campers. When we returned she even remembered our children 's name. security is number one they were all over the park makin me feel safe to let my children roam. Family campground forsure!

Riviera RV Park and Campground in Grand Forks, British Columbia
Account photo My wife and I stayed at the Riviera RV Park in August and enjoyed meeting the friendly and helpful hosts. They took time to chat, (Stan is an Airman from the Airforce, like me, so we had lots to talk about), gave us brochures for area attractions and offered a shuttle service for us to tube down Kettle River, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Loved the sandy beach and river swimming. Clean washrooms and laundromat with library too. Relaxing time.

Account photo "Fantastic, cant wait for summer 2013"......   We go there the occasional weekend in the summer, but if the kids had their way, we'd be there more! Its a great place to disconnect, have the kids unplug from their electronics and play with friends, fish, swim, take part in activities. Although, if your teenager (or you) absolutely needs their internet, there is a free hotspot to catch up. The facilities are very clean.

Account photo "Dirty and Dissappointed"......   I chose Lake Avenue from the Internet website. I planned to spend 10 days but left after 3 days. The website advertised sandy beach. The beach was dirty , the water full of seaweed and dead animals rotting in the water. I would not let anyone swim in that water. The pool was cloudy and not safe for swimming. I contacted Castle Vacation Parks with my concerned and they ignored them. Warning- do not believe the website description of Lake Avenue Park or any Castle Vacation Park.

Fort Steele Campground in Cranbrook, British Columbia
Account photo "Very good family campground"......   This campground is 3 km south of Ft. Steele Historic Site at the bottom of the hill and down Kelly Rd. They do not take reservations and payment is cash. If you want nice, quite, family friendly campground - this is it. They have every thing from basic tent sites to full water/sewer hookups (15 Amp power only)and all sites are grass with no cement pads. There is a play ground for the kids, heated pool, various sport equipment to use (badminton etc)and trails to wander. Each camp site has a fire pit and wood is available at the store. This is a family owned campground and Bob & Rhonda make every effort to make your stay enjoyable. Bob is an expert on bats and the campground has numerious bat houses throughout the area and on many evenings, Bob will have lectures on bats, dispelling many myths on bats that have become folk lore. You can usually see wildlife in the area fields such as deer, elk, rabbits, squirles and dozens of different bird at the numerious feeders by the office. Because this campground is away from the hwy and in a coulee, there is no hwy traffic noise (you can hear the train whistle from the steam train at Ft. Steele but thats it for noise). The store sells basic items and if more is needed, Cranbrook is about 20 km away with all city items. For overall relaxing, family campground this is it.

Account photo We were pleased with the campground overall. We showed up Sunday afternoon to avoid the busy weekend the park was very clean and tidy. A friend told me they are very strict at this campground about partying and noise after 10:00. So I was surprised when I could hear loud music over my ac unit running until 2:30 in the morning. I later found out it was a horseshoes tournament and the park owners were there. The kids had fun in the pool witch was very clean. We went to the look off to watch the tide come in. A must see if you haven't seen before. If the park staff spent an hour trimming trees a bit it would help the view a lot. After reading the other reviews I will most likely not return.
